We got to get away for a few days to California... the final destination was the UT and UCLA game. Okay, a not so good ending to an otherwise perfect weekend! We flew into the SanFransisco area on Friday night and rented a car. Joe and Kerry joined us and Joe planned each day out VERY carefully...we were on a schedule! He was the perfect tour guide! We spent the night in San Fransico/Oakland area and had a nice dinner on the wharf...Flynn was almost attacked by a seagull! It was windy and actually cool there. Saturday morning we walked through Muir Woods...beautiful! We spent the rest of Saturday in SF... drove down the crooked street and walked all around the city, so much to see! We saw lots of sea lions on the dock and a cool one man band, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz... we went to mass that afternoon in Little Italy at Saint Peter and Saint Paul Cathedral and decided that the precious little group of three old Sicilian women sitting near us would probably know where a good Italian place to eat would be...Joe chased them down and they sent us to Ceasars, and it was amazing! Like an old family resturaunt! The three little ladies ended up at the table beside us! They are all sisters who outlived their husbands and now hang out together! They talked to us after dinner, the oldest was 92 and her husband used to play ball with Joe DiMaggio!
