GO, MALACHY GRACE, GO!

Cross country is underway once again! This year Nora is running at practices with the K and 1st graders, and we told her that it was only at practices, because she is too young for the meets and we thought there was an understanding there...apparently not!!! She screamed and hollered, kicked the floor as Dad and Mally left on Sunday for the first meet...I hope her heart is in it that much next year, we may have two runners in our family! For those who do not know, I cannot go to meets, Dad is the only approved supporter! A few years ago we would all go and Malachy said that it hurt her time because as each of us yelled she would look at us and therefore lose a little time. We laughed and thought we'd prove her wrong and so only Dad went the next week and she came in the top 10! The rest is history! She is pretty much always in the top 10 (on those few times not, she's 12 or 13!) She is amazing and I am so proud, but I have to wonder when the streak will end... Flynn and I are not runners, so it's not in the genes! But she keeps going! She was #6 this week out of over 150 girls her age! Just over a 7 minute mile! Way to go Mally!!!!!

(footnote...she has informed me that she WALKED up "heartbreak hill" as they call it which is right before the end! She still made 6th place!!!)
