Flynn is the first to admit he is no carpenter, but we needed an "adjustment" in our kitchen and he wanted to give it a try...rewind about 6 years ago to renovation and at the end things were over budget so some luxuries got cut, counters and new built in microwave were among that list... counters are still on list, but our tiny cheap microwave was placed in an opening that was basically a shelf and we were fine, til microwave started acting up...we'd buy a microwave, get it home and it would not fit, return it and make do and repeat, so on! Then last week, fireworks were going on in microwave! We found a microwave that matches appliances somewhat and gave us maximum cook space for space that we had...this weekend my little carpenter went to work, taking out shelves, putting in outlets, removing drawers, and making things level all throughout project, more level that our existing cabinets! He got it all done with scrap wood from other projects and even found baskets in our house that work perfectly (we do have a lot of baskets, can never have too many!) I can't stop looking at it... perfect!
this kind of shows a before, a year ago...what he did was move a shelf, adjust, remove a drawer, make the new microwave more fitted and built in like (with a piece behind it to keep it from sliding around and back)Silly picture of me pickin on/lovin on Reilly... but we do not have a lot of photos of the kitchen!
update... nora was so excited to cook her oatmeal this morning because now the microwave is lower and she can finally reach it!

LOVE you cabinets, as well as the yellow on your walls. And great photo of you and your son - those candid moments are always the best to catch on film. :)
