Mothers Day has come and gone...we celebrated some with my aunt and grandmother, most of us were worn out and in a daze from helping others with the flood. I got a beautiful handmade bracelet from my favorite kindergartener!...pretty handmade cards and lots of hugs and I love yous throughout the day, and a gift card for a date night dinner from all 4 kids- they pooled their money for it! I am always thankful that this is my role. Being a "mommy" is what I dreamed of and I think I would have had more and more little ones calling me mommy if I was not so worried of the fact that it would cost more and more and I would not be able to stay home and be the "mommy"! I am thankful for the sweet husband who WANTS me home being the mom and is always thankful of the job that I do to contribute to our family. I am thankful for my mom and mother in law, the grandmothers all of whom played such a role in who I am toady (and the fact that I am so blessed to still have those women in my life)...I am thankful for the aunts, cousins and friends that have inspired, coached and helped me in the raising of my children and taught me things along the way!
But... I am thankful for my mother who celebrated her birthday yesterday...a little over 40 years ago, she was a frightened teenager unsure of what was ahead of her and made the most important decision of MY life...she kept me! She always says that she is unsure of who raised whom, BUT I know she raised me and did a good job! (occasionally I may play the mom role to her as well, but...) I am proud of who she made me become and I think Lincoln's words above put it well!
(and just look how cute she is in that picture...probably 20 years old or so!)

Happy Mother's Day to all!
