Last night was our schools academic banquet and we got to take Mally and Reilly as our guests (it is only for grades 3-8). We had a great evening with just the two of them but a few things made the night special. First of all, both got acknowledged for having Honor Roll ALL year and Reilly was the only 7th grader with that honor (there were about three who made Principals list all year). This was an accomplishment... he was a little proud! For those of you that remember, he has had a long road to this point! Many past teachers came up and hugged on him! (can't you just see him, head down, little smile and blushing!) But the thing that made the night even more special is that the "teacher of the year" was a very special lady who is a tremendous benefit to our school and she has worked with Reilly one on one through the years and brought him to the point he is now. He now does study hall with her and she swears he takes the lead! He requires no help anymore, not from me either! I can't believe that we got to this point! But to see her get the award made me get teary eyed... she and a few others are so special to some of us and do so much that usually go unnoticed. She was in shock, and tears and smiles at the same time!
