christmas at our home...

As the kids are getting older (3 anyway) christmas is getting more and more expensive... I do pride myself on that they do not ask for a lot, then flynn says that could be that they already have everything...I like to think it is because they are just that good!  Maybe a little of both!
We started when hagan was born with "the wise man plan".  Each child receives 3 gifts from santa under the tree (unwrapped) and 3 wrapped gifts each...from mom and dad.  This works well in our larger crew.  Every once and awhile, they debated...Hagan reminded us that there were others who brought gifts to Jesus, townspeople and so on, shouldn't we get a few more?!?  And they told us of friends getting a lot more than 3 under the tree...we informed them that those families may not be on the wise man plan!  So far it has been a tradition at our home, and i hope one that they carry on...At this point, Reilly cannot even come up with three ideas...easy kid!

girls tree(s)!

boys bedroom tree and nativity tree in the bathroom!

living room tree above, family room tree below...

painted lit tree that I did like the one that was in flynn's home growing up...his aunt had made theirs.

winter wonderland in the girls room...white paper scraps are all over our home, but I do like it!  Thanks to Maemie for doing it at their home and inspiring us!!!

Great idea about the Wise Men gifts. Christmas gifts can get out of hand and I think it's good to not only set expectations, but to focus on the reason for the season, and it sounds like you guys do that very well. Love the trees as well as the snow flakes in the girls' room. Wonderful!
