Sweet little Nora endured surgery #4 on her eyes yesterday...we are hoping this is the one that works! She has gone 5 times, but got sent home this past summer because her eyes were having a "straight day"! It was easier on us because she has such a positive outlook on this! George went with her, that little monkey has gone all 5 times and Nana gave her a moose that also made the trip. They got name bands as well (just in case they happen to fall off back there somewhere). She was chatty the whole time before, as calm as could be! On a different note, after the surgery in recovery, I was helping her get dressed to come home, and She said, "Mommy, I don't think it worked... I can't open my eyes!" The nurses got a laugh out of this, and I had to remind her that they will have to be closed a day or so. She has done beautifully. She told all the nurses that she was in morning prayers at school and that her class was saying a little prayer for her right during her surgery (another reason that I love their school!) and she must have talked even more as they wheeled her back, because as we left afterward with her asleep in my arms, nurses passed us saying "is that Nora? Bye Nora!"
Recovery is going well... Thanks to all for prayers. Her sweet class made her a "hug book" and her sweet teacher brought it by a gave her a little visit and hug right as we got home! (did I say I love their school!)
Also sweet... As I carry her around to go potty and feed her as she opens her little mouth like a bird for more, she says "Mommy, now I get to see what it would be like to blind for a few days!" Makes me smile and want to cry all at once! We are blessed that this is a correctable problem.
