Mary and "Jofus"

Nora has always pronounced Joseph as Jofus and it has stuck at our house! This year Nora was chosen to carry Baby Jesus with Trent (her buddy) in Christmas mass to place Him in the manger...Nora was convinced that she was to be Mary and Trent be Jofus and she talked about it ALL of the time! When playing with the nativity or seeing a nativity in public she would state "look, it's me and Trent!" We told her over and over that she was only taking Jesus to the manger and that she and Trent were NOT dressing up as Mary and Joseph...there was no convincing the stubborn Mary! Finally Trent's mom (her favorite teacher Mrs. Cathy) told her that she could be Mary BUT she would be wearing regular church clothes!!!! She reluctantly listened and somewhat accepted the idea! She and Trent (Jofus) did a wonderful job and she fell asleep right after and slept through the rest of mass! Being Mary was a tiring job!

Malachy read the second reading and did a wonderful job! Very clear and confident, loud and at a good pace (does not get that from her Mom... I was nervous just watching and listening to her!) Hagan was a eucharistic minister (and so was Flynn). It was a beautiful mass, it is always.
